Words

My pen flows across the page,
the words never ending,
my pen never breaking,
and my mind?
Never stopping.

The words I see everyday, flow at me from across the way,
I see them all the time,
even when I shut my eyes.

The other day it came to me,
as I watched the words streaming,
this was what I was meant to be.
Not a sonnet, or a poet, a singer or a dancer,
But the most wonderful thing I could ever be,
a writer.

When it came to me,
my pen stopped moving and the words stopped flowing.
I looked around in wonder,
I smiled and I did a little jig,
and than with all the glory or things yet to be seen,
the words started flowing once again.

My pen flows across the page,
the words never ending.
