Before it all fell apart.

There was something so surreal about standing in that court room while the judgement was being passed. Never did she think that she would be in this place, she wanted to be different, but it didn't matter, she would always be tied to someone that she wasn't, that she had never been. Spencer looked up as the judge walked back in, she stood along with everyone else. Her heart was racing in her ears. She wanted to look back has she heard the word guilty roll out of the judges mouth, but if she did she wouldn't like what she saw. She had been abandoned once again by the people she cared for the most. Spencer took a deep breath, standing up straight, locking away any emotions that she had. As she was being walked away she didn't look over at her once called team,
Spencer yawned softly, it was a day to be up super early, she needed to run a few errands before she went over to her best friends to get ready for their lovely party. She stood from her bed quickly, grabbing her necklace off the table, placing it around her neck, it was the one thing that controlled her powers. Spencer moved quickly trying to get ready fast enough to where she could be on time. She grabbed her phone, texted Roy, Hey did you get that package I sent to your place, its our gift to Sophia and Richard, it's from the team. And with that she was out the door. Spencer needed to run to the dress shop and get her dress, and get Roy's tux. It was going to be a surprise to Sophia that Roy is now back.
Roy groaned when he heard his phone go off. He rolled over in the bed, running his fingers through his bed head of hair. Royce grabbed his phone and looked at it, responding back with a simple Yes. "God she can be so uptight some times." He mumbled to himself as he stood up and made his way over to the shower, he needed a hot shower to wake up. After about 30 minutes of him showering and getting dressed he made his way to the kitchen, making coffee. Just as Roy got his cup made there was a knock at the door and followed by Spencer walking in. "Roy are you almost ready! You need to get dressed and then we need to head out. Sophi is sending me 911 messages." Spencer called as she walked in to the kitchen where he was standing.
"I could have been naked."
"But I know you wouldn't be, since you know that I can unlock doors and walk right in."
"But I could have been."
"But you aren't" They were left at a stalemate, both just staring at each other with a raised brow. Roy shook his head and moved to get changed. They needed to be heading out very soon.

Sometimes…..
Sophia sat at her vanity as she watched the "make up and hair" team work around her. She saw one reach for a bright green lip and she was done. She sent one text to Spencer and one to her brother which read "I look like the Grinch and a poodle mixed together. I'm calling it off." while panic rose in her gut she looked at everyone that was in a flurry around her and spoke very softly. "You need to leave. See Alfred at the door for your payment." one girl stopped and looked at her shocked.
"But Miss Wayne we aren't done." the lead stated as if she were an errant child.
"Oh but we are- you can leave. If one of you touches me again that will be the last time you work hair or makeup in this city." they all looked at each other and looked at her, trying to gauge if she was really serious and then a soft cough behind all of them had them turning around.
"You did hear the lady- I'd leave if I were you." Richard Wayne leaned against the door frame leading into Sophia's vanity room. His cool blue eyes held know hint of the smile that he was known for, and he was emanating a certain level of power that came of off Bruce Wayne in waves.
Sophia watched as they all hurried and packed up their hair and makeup kits each one sending nasty looks towards her. She felt no sympathy as they left the room- she honestly didn't know how long this was going to fix the "normal" way. And she sighed as she knew that this night was not going to be as magic free as she had wanted it to be, "Thanks Richard..I needed that backup...ever since War World...I just haven't been the same." she confided in him as she stood up and tightened the white robe that was around her. She knew that everyone in the house knew about her night-terrors and her fear that she would once again have to kill to live. That was the reason her and Conner broke up- that and Roy. But she hadn't seen Roy since before the incidents of War World with Superman. She sighed again as she waved a hand over her face and hair and watched as all the green and blue makeup and the insta perm they had given her melt away. "Is this really worth it all? I mean- this isn't really for us. It's just for Dad's board members. For them to see that we are fit to inherit what we are about to inherit. And for them to make sure I'm not batty." she tried to give him a small smirk but knew she failed.
As all the woman filed past him he watched Sophia- the look in her eyes was one that he himself rarely saw and one that he knew no one else was allowed to see. Just how tired and strung tight she was. He moved into the room when the last one left and raised an eyebrow at her eccentric makeup and hair, "I know- I could feel your panic from the ballroom downstairs." he tapped the side of his head to remind her of their open connection. Dick watched as she used the one thing that separated them from being almost a 100% the same person, to clean up her makeup and her hair. "We'll get through it- Sophi. We always do. Together." he slung his arm around her shoulders and gave her a quick squeeze. "It's just a few hours and then- it's over with. We get our shares of the company, the board realizes that you aren't batty, and when you turn twenty one you'll be the CEO cause I sure as hell don't want it. You were made for this- I know right now that you think you aren't but it's always been in your blood Sophia, and you'll remember that before you get to lost."

Spencer chuckled softly as she looked at her phone, Roy was the one driving them to the manor. She quickly responded back with an, 'awww how cute.' She couldn't wait to see Sophia's face when she got to see that Roy was back, it was Spencers gift to her best friend. She looked over at the red head in the car next to her. "I'm glad you came back, even if it was only for her. It'll mean a lot to her, you being here tonight." She said softly as she looked up at the place where everything was going down. She had a bad feeling about something, and it was getting hard to push away.
Spencer smiled softly as they pulled up to the manor, once the car was parked she quickly jumped out, heading over to Alfred, "Is she up stairs, did the hair and make up team do as I said?" She asked him quickly, only getting a nod as he helpped usher Roy in. Spencer made sure Roy was looking tip top before they began to move up the stairs. Once she was at Sophia's room she knocked. "Hey Grinchy Poodle, can I steal your attenion for a moment?" She asked softly.
Spencer smiled softly as they pulled up to the manor, once the car was parked she quickly jumped out, heading over to Alfred, "Is she up stairs, did the hair and make up team do as I said?" She asked him quickly, only getting a nod as he helpped usher Roy in. Spencer made sure Roy was looking tip top before they began to move up the stairs. Once she was at Sophia's room she knocked. Roy rolled his eyes at all of Sepncers playfulness, it was true, he had only came back because of Sophi. Spencer told him how her bad days were bad, and how her good days would be okay days. He only felt it would be right to come back and save his pretty girl. He stood behind Spencer, holding the flowers they had picked up. Roy rolled his eyes once again, stepping past Spencer, "I think she has time for me, and not you." he said with a smirk as he looked at Sophia. "Hey pretty girl, did you miss me?" He asked softly, giving her a warm smile.

Richard heard the 'click, clack' of Spencer's heels as she moved up the flights of stairs to get to Sophia's room and he already had a smile on his face as he turned around, that was until he saw Roy. He kept his face impassive as Sophia had yet to turn around he knew that she couldn't see either one of the new arrivals in the mirror.
Sophia could feel Spencer even before she reached a mile of the Manor, but she hadn't sensed anyone else. The only people that her link was open to was the Team and Bruce. She'd closed off other connections when she had come back, she only kept one with Conner because he was still on the team and hadn't left her or the Team like others had.
She didn't turn around when Spencer actually came up to the room, she just studied herself in the mirror, thinking about the spell she was about to cast so she didn't have to worry about the hair or makeup again. Then she heard him- and her stomach dropped. She reached out and gripped Richards arm tightly, still not turning around. Her eyes were shut tightly as she whispered softly to him. "Is he really here?"
Dick looked Roy up and down before giving his sister the answer she wanted. "Yeah Sophi- he's really here. The question is for how long." his hand covered his sisters and he looked at her, her color had dropped and he could see that she was fighting for a control she didn't have anymore. "He's here, don't worry."
Don't worry, he's here. the words kept rolling through her head as she slowly started to turn around and looked at him. The grin was a little weird on his otherwise stony face, he was always so serious even when someone was teasing him. Even when she told him that she had always loved him, he told her to be with Conner instead, someone who could and would always be there for her, that hadn't turned out to be the truth but she had found a different love with Conner. "Are you really here or...are you just passing through. Because if you are just passing through you can keep on going." a tear slid down her face as she took a step towards him. "But if your here to stay... I think I can find some room for you." she whispered.
Bruce had stepped out of his office which he had moved to be closer to Sophia when she had finally come home, and watched as Roy climbed up the steps. He stepped back into his office and made a phone call. "Queen, we have to talk."

Spencer gave Richard a sweet smile as she walked over to where the twins were. A smile giglle left her lips at the looked Richard made when he saw Roy. Spencer looked over at Sophi, "He better be here for good, it was hard enough tracking him down this time. I wont be doing it again." She teased, looking back at Richard, making a motion to maybe leave them alone. Spencer moved out of the door frame, heading down the hallway a bit, her long red dress flowing behind her. Spencer reached up and grabbed her necklace, exhaling deeply, it had been very long day already. But it was all worth it.
Royce moved closer to her, gently brushing away the tear that had fallen from her eyes. "I bit of both. I do have to head out after tonight to get the rest of my thins, but I'll be back again with in a few days." He said softly to her, standing there with her. "You can come with me if you want." He spoke before glancing back at Spencer and rolling his eyes at her. He had left for a reason, and didn't want to be found for that same reason He looked back to Sophi, there was a bit of guilt in his eyes, he hd hated leaving her, but he also knew that he had to.

Richard followed after Spencer and grabbed Roy's arm before he advanced further into the room, "Be careful about what you say, just because you're coming in to be the hero now doesn't mean that you aren't still the villain. Or that the rest of us will forget how you were absent when she needed you the most." Richard went out the door and caught up to Spencer, "Did you really have to bring him back? She may not get any better...until she wants to at least." he kept his voice low due to the fact that he knew there were employees floating around the Manor to get it ready for the party.
Sophia heard what Richard said and really thought for a moment, her heart dropped again as she took a step away from Roy when he reached out and touched her. "I'm glad your back Roy...I missed you a lot. But, Richard is right. You're back now, for how long I don't really know. And that scares me, I've already had people I cared about leave more than once, yourself included in that. I want to believe that you are here to stay, but you have to prove it to me." Sophia looked him up and down and finally let a small smile shine through for him, "First step is to get into a better tux- didn't Ollie teach you anything." she waved her hand and watched with satisfaction as Roy got into a black, well fitted, suit with an off grey tie to match it. His black shoes shined brightly. "Go down with Dick and Spencer- I'll be down in a while." she paused again and looked at him deeply, searching for an answer she just didn't have. "I want you to stay Roy- not just because I have feelings for you, but because you are my best friend and have always been. I just don't have it in me anymore to trust that you'll stay."

Roy ave her a faint smile. She had a point, so did Richard. He looked down softly and exhaled, letting out some air he had been holding in. He needed to just brush it off for now. All good things come to those who wait. He had to prove himself, that he agreed on, "What do you mean, that suit was a great suit." he said as he pushed his brows together, giving her a playfull glare. He glanced back in the mirror, giving himself a good look up and down. He had to admit, this suit was a better fit.
Spencer looked back at Richard as he stepped over to her, she looked as though she just came back to reality, mostly because she had. She gave him a a soft smile, "Ready to head down stairs?" she asked, still running her fingers over her necklace. She let her hand fall, only to reach down, holding her hand out to Richard. Tonight needed to be perfect, "Oh! I almost forgot!" She started, pausiing for a moment to reach into her purse. "I was thinking about how we were talking about what you should change your hero name to, once we aren't sidekicks anymore.... and well I couldn't think of a name, but I thought of this." She paused pulling out a tie pin that was in the shape of his soon to be Nightwing symbol. "I made it myself, along with this..." She said as she place a necklace around his neck that just had a simple black feather piece on it. "It has a protector charm on it, that way I can always make sure you're safe."

Dick looked down at the necklace and looked back at her, "As much as I would love to wear this all the time I can't tonight, you know that. Even with magic to hide it there will be too many people tonight that have magic and can sense it on others. No one knows the extra things that the Wayne's do in their spare time and I won't be the one to let anything slip like that." He slipped it back off of his head and went over to a nightstand that was in the hallway and placed his hand on the top of it, looked around and then activated a switch that had the top moving to the side and opening up a secret compartment, he placed the necklace inside of it and looked at Spencer again and offered a goofy grin, I do like the sound of 'Nightwing' I'll think about it. Thank you, and I swear after this I'll wear it almost constantly outside of important functions." He knew for a fact that there were two members on the board that could sense magical objects because Sophia could sense it and hide her own personal magic better than anyone he had ever meet in his travels with Batman. "Are you ready for this party?" he asked as the top slid back into place and locked.
"No it wasn't you know better." she scoffed as she waved him out of the room and shut the door with a flick of her hand. She turned back to the vanity and sat back down into the seat- she crossed her arms and sat there thinking tapping her fingers impatiently. She knew that everyone was worried about her because of War World, Superman hadn't been forced to kill someone, he had come close, but had been able to walk away and still live. What she hadn't told anyone was that they had killed her, over and over again to make a point that if she did what he had done, her life would be over and they wouldn't bring her back. She was struggling now to find the right way to express the rage for justice that had been instilled in Dick and Sophia from a young age and not let her outside issues cloud what she once you to be good at. In both her real life and in her vigilante one. She moved again and moved to sit on the floor, crossing her legs and placing her hands on her knees, she did something that she hadn't done in a long time. Sophia cleared her head and let her magic run freely around her, she levitated about five feet into the air and meditated.

Royce chuckled softly as he looked at her, he gave her a brief nod before he was standing outside the door. He glanced over at Richard and Spencer, shakng his head at them for a second before he looked at his watch. It was almost time for the party to start. He exhaled deeply, around this time every day, he was training, but now that Spencer had brought him back, things had changed, he felt like things were almost like they were before her had left. Roy looked forward, waiting quietly for Sophia. It was nice to be back, but uncomfortable at the same time. A ot had changed in the time that he had been gone...
Spencer just gave Richard a smile back. "It doesn't bother me if you wear it or don't. What will bother me though is if you don't wear this from time to time." She said as she pointed to the tie pin. She gave a small laugh before taking his hand, leaning in to give him a soft kiss on the cheek. "Happy Birthday." She said softly, before gently pulling both of them towards the party. Spencer looked down at her necklace one last time, just checking to make sure there wasn't any of her magic gems in it. And there wasn't, tonight it was just the technology that made her collar work like it did.

Richard grinned and replied to her "I'll wear it don't worry about that.'' his grin increased and he ran his hands through his hair, "Damn it's our birthday, finally 16. Can legally drive- take the test tomorrow. Plus- this is something that will help Sophia, she'll be focused on something. She has to impress the board again, since the disappearance they have lost faith that she knows how to mingle with the public because shes been so far removed from every day life... I know it sounds petty but this company means a lot to Dad and to her, she wouldn't just let it slip past her. And.." he heard her door open down the hallway and saw Roy step out, "Plus Pretty Boy is here, that'll be something to see between him and Conner." he gave a quick whistle and jerked his head down the hallway. "Yo Speedy-" he reverted back to a nickname that Oliver Queen used to call him before the sidekick the Green Arrow started to go by that, he also knew that Roy hated that name with a passion. "She'll come out when she's ready come on up to the ballroom with us." he could feel the magic pulsing out through their connection.
Sophia lowered herself back to the ground and for the first time since she came back from War World she felt more centered, she tapped her fingers and her hair fell in soft ringlets, half of her long hair was pinned back and she now had softly applied and natural makeup, and her dress was tightly laced up in the back and fell softly. She stepped into her shoes that were by the vanity and bent down to strap them. She stood back up studied herself in the mirror and waved a hand over her face again, changing her makeup to look slightly darker around her eyes and her eyelashes darker. She took a seat and kept thinking about how tonight was going to go. Something felt off to her and wasn't sitting well in her gut. Sophia heard a knock on her door and waved her hand again allowing the door to creak open. "Hey Daddy." she said softly as she turned around and gave Bruce a smile.
Bruce entered the room in a sharp black suit and holding a large jewelry box in his hands, "I called Oliver- just so you know. He's coming tonight." Bruce admitted before he moved closer to her. He watched as she cocked her head to the side and thought about what she was going to be say to him. "I don't care? I love Ollie so does Dick." was her soft reply, "I didn't call him for you two. He hasn't seen Roy in months, Thea said that he had gotten into something bad before he left." Bruce referred to Ollie's younger sister and came closer, "I just don't want anyone getting close enough to hurt you again." This time he knelt down onto his knee and took her hand in his, she gave him a smile, "Dad, you worry so much. I know what Roy was into- he may not feel me poking around his head but that doesn't mean I didn't poke. I'm suspicious by nature, can't help it, just how I was raised." he cracked a rare grin as she gave that reply and opened the box in his hand. It contained a pink diamond drop down necklace and the matching tear drop earrings, "Thought you'd like these. Happy Birthday Sophia."

Spencer looked at Richard and smiled at him, "Everything will be fine tonight, Sophia can do this." She said as she glanced back at Roy watching as he made his way other to them. "Ready to see the team again?" She asked as she made her way down the stairs to the party. She held her dress up a bit so she wouldn't trip, she glanced back at the two. "Well?" She asked softly.
Roy walked over to Richard and Spencer, "Don't call me Speedy. He said softly as he looked at Richard. "Yeah I guess I'm ready to see everyone again." He said softly as he watched spencer walk down the steps. He exhaled softly before he followed after her. It was time to see every one again. After so long... This was going to be a bit stressful.

-Twenty Minutes Later-
Dick was standing at the top of the steps that lead down into the ballroom floor as he waited for Sophia, Bruce had already excorted his date down the steps, and Richard was just waiting for Sophia to join him. Whats taking so long? I got places to be man, crime to fight, gotta get this show on the road. he ran a hand through his hair and moved from foot to foot.
She chuckled as Dick's thought went through her mind, she smoothed down her dress one more time and entered from his right. She gave him a stunning smile and held out her arm. "You don't have crime to fight- you're just more interested in seeing if Roy and Conner get into it." Richard took her arm and started to lead her down the steps, she could hear Alfred announcing them to their guests as they moved into their view. "As much as I am nervous right now, I did miss this."Roy, where are you? she searched the crowd for his familiar red mop of hair, not seeing him she turned her attention back to her brother.
"Hey Dick, happy 16th birthday. I love you." she looked up at him as they reached the bottom of the steps and she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek as camera lights flashed from the press.
Richard looked down at his sister and gave her a quick grin, "I'm not worried about tonight- and you are right. I think Conner's gonna throw the first punch, I have money on it." he chuckled and then grew more serious.
''Sophi you're gonna do amazing tonight, you always do. Just trust your instincts." he came to a stop as they reached the bottom of the steps, let her kiss his cheek for the photo opp, and then pulled her in for a quick hug. "Happy birthday you little brat. Have a blast tonight okay? We only turn 16 once."

Spencer stood in the back by the Balcony. She looked up and smiled as Alfed annouced Sophia and Richard. She clapped softly as she watched all of them. She looked over, motioning for Roy to come back inside. Spencer looked over and saw Connor making his way over to Roy. She acted quickly and cut him off. "No, if you ruin this party I will hurt you." All she got was a grunt and him walking away. She shook her head, walking over to her mother. "Fata mea dulce, de ce te uiti asa de jos?"*
Spencer shook her head before she responded, **"Ceva nu se simte drept mama." Selena looked at her before storking her cheek. Selena could tell something was wrong.
Roy looked over when Spencer called for him. He stepped back into the main room. I'm right here. I was outside, keeping my distance from Connor. He spoke softly to her. He looked up, seeing how lovely she looked. He smiled as he looked at her. He glanced over at Connor, seeing the glare that was on his face, he just shook his head, looking back over at Sophia.

-An hour later-
Richard was standing with Roy and Conner, and he could feel the tension ripple off the two in waves. He rocked back on his heels and asked the first thing that came to mind, "Hows the weather?" it was a neutral topic and he hoped that at least someone would speak other then him. People were milling about and dancing, but he had seen the two standing around awkwardly both watching Sophia with hawk eyes, and it had really weirded him out and he couldn't imagine how it was making Sophia feel on top of everyone else staring at her. So he had managed, without bloodshed to get both men to come hang out with him near the table of gifts and the cake that had yet to be touched, and now he regretted the actions he had taken.
Sophia was talking to Bruce and Alfred about when to call the guests in for a toast and a speech, when she felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up. She tuned Alfred's voice out and turned and looked out at the crowd, her senses peeked she opened her mind up to Richard, Something isn't right.
That's when the first bomb went off, near the entrance of the ballroom. People screamed and ran for the exit but some guests threw off their disguises and blocked all the exits out. Bruce when the first explosion went off and had taken a hold of Sophia's arm and pulled her closer to him. As the dust settled she heard the evil laugh that went to the one and only man crazy enough to pull a stunt like this. A horrified "No," fell from her lips as she watched him emerge from the rubble.
When Sophia sent out that thought he was already moving and had jerked his head for the other two men to follow him and as soon as the explosion happened Dick was already moving towards the people that had fallen due to the blast and were at risk at getting trampled on. Can you do anything? he helped on woman to her feet, he yanked off his tie and wrapped it around the top of her arm to slow the bleeding from a gash on her forearm. "Can you walk?" he asked, and that's when he heard the laugh and everyone in the room froze. Most from terror and some, from an apprehension that they couldn't do anything to stop what was about to happen.
The man kept walking as he laughed, chaos. This was wonderful. This is what he lived for. He stopped at the top of the steps and looked down at all the frightened people and his eyes zoomed in on the three people in the middle of the room that had made no move to duck and cover like the rest of the human swine. And his smile grew. "Ladies and gentlemen!" he clapped his hands together and everyone stopped and looked at him, his henchmen making it impossible for anyone to leave, "Quick question to the birthday girl: When the clock strikes twelve, do I get a little kiss?" he laughed again and then shouted out again, "I want the Batman."

Spencer was in shock. She was in the first wave of bombs, which had caused her to fall back off the balcony. Spencer reacted fast, shifting her powers to catch on to a poll. She hung there for a moment, her ears ringing. It took her a moment to get a grip, but once she did she heard that once, the one voice she thought she would never hear again. Spencer acted quickly tossing her self up, following the sound of the high pitched laugh. Soon enough she was on the roof, staring at her once loved best friend, Harley. The femme fatale shallowed hard as she looked at the Jester before her. "Harley.... I thought you were free."
Harley laughed at Spencers words. "My puddin needed me at his side, so thats where I stayed." came the Jesters reply. Blood was going to be spilled tonight, whether they wanted it to or not. Before Spencer could reply, Harley leapt foward, attacking Spencer with all her might. And just like that the fight for blood began.
Roy had been blasted back a bit from the bomb, but he quickly recovered, "Sophia!" He called out, looking around the smoke covered room. As the smoke settled he looked up at the stairs, seeing the Joker standing there. ROyce helped a few people move to safety before slowly moving to where Connor was, at a time like this, the two could put awy their anger and team up. Connor looked at Roy, giving him a softt nod beforelooking up at the Joker, a bit of a growl rolled off his ips. Tonight was an eventful night, that was for sure.

Richard looked toward the middle of the room as the question was tossed out to Sophia, it wasn't a good sign that the Joker has set his sights in on Sophia, it either meant that he knew who she was, or that he knew she was the linchpin for Batman. If she was gone, the Batman as the world knew wouldn't be the same, the Dark Knight would have lost a part of himself, while in the back of his mind Richard knew he was equally as loved by Bruce as Sophia was, he knew that his own world would be tossed upside down and sideways and he didn't even know how he would recover. The only reason they didn't go off the deep end when they lost her recently was because before she had her powers stripped she had sent a message. And given them hope. At this point he didn't know if she could give off that same hope when she looked beyond angry.
As the question was asked Sophia's hid a face of disgust. When the next one was dropped she opened up her mind wide for the Young Justice Team to make sure all were safe, the only one who wasn't at the moment was Spencer, she watched through her eyes for a moment and then retreated, Harley and her had some unfinished business and Sophia had more pressing matters to deal with. "I want the Batman." At this Sophia loudly scoffed, "You are a mad man, did you think the cape crusader would come to a Sweet 16?" she took her arm back from Bruce and spun around the room with her arms wide, "Really, the Dark Knight... here?. Batman wouldn't show up to help right now if his life depended on it, he doesn't bow down to the wishes of a mad man." she shot a pointed look at Bruce, We don't bow down to the wishes of a mad man. resonated in her head to everyone she cared about.
Oh yes we do dummy!
The Joker came down the steps as Sophia spoke, watching her closely, his eyes following her every move with a hunger that couldn't be described, when she stopped speaking he was standing directly in front of her. He leaned down right into her face and spoke very softly, "I'm not mad, I am perfectly sane. And the Bat will come or everyone in this room will die. Starting with you." he reached out and carressed her face softly, while the other one pulled a knife out he quickly spun the both of them around so his one hand was buried deeply in her hair, yanking her head back to expose her neck, and he held the gleaming knife to it. He nicked her neck and watched as blood started to well on her neck, he called out loud enough to keep everyone's attention this time "Paging Doctor Bat, paging Doctor Bat! Is there a Doctor Bat in the room?"
She didn't flinch when the knife sliced into her skin, but she felt Bruce's terror as he opened his mind up to her. Sometimes we bow to the wishes of a mad man. she looked at him and pleaded with her eyes to keep him from doing anything to expose himself. She searched for Richard and the rest of the team, hoping that someone would step up and prevent Bruce was opening his mouth. She saw the flash of a camera and this time jerked as the knife slipped deeper into her skin as the Joker turned towards the flash. Can we get these people out without letting the world know who each of us are? Can one of you possibly sneak away?

She searched for Richard and the rest of the team, hoping that someone would step up and prevent Bruce was opening his mouth. She saw the flash of a camera and this time jerked as the knife slipped deeper into her skin as the Joker turned towards the flash. Can we get these people out without letting the world know who each of us are? Can one of you possibly sneak away?

Royce looked over at Sophia, he was too close to sneak away to help, but Connor was. He looked over at Connor, giving him a head nod to make a move when the time was right. /Connor is in the corner, Once we get a clear shot we'll attack./ He spoke back to Sophia, looking up at her with that 'I'll protect you look.' He watched the Joker, matching every move he made waiting for just the right moment to have Connor attack.
~Mean While~
Spencer through a right hook, hitting Harley right in the face. The Jester fell back, panting as she looked up at Spencer. "Harley this needs to end, Your hurting innocent people. Don't do this...." Spencer pleaded with her once best friend, but Harley wasn't having it. The Jester stood quickly, charging at Spencer, a knife in her hand. Before Spencer could react, she felt the blade dig deep into her side. Spencer dropped to her knees, looking up at Harley. Police sirens rang in the back ground, people where here to save the day.

Sometimes…..
Richard looked over to where Conner was at and then to the villains that were around him, he noticed on by the window that was staring at him intently. Richard immediately knew who he was, Guys, that's out of the question Black Manta is watching Conner, that means that this is a Injustice League operation. his gut twisted as he watched the knife dig deeper into her skin. He slinked through the crowd to get closer to both Sophia and Bruce. Out of all the times to not be able to do something right away, this had to be the one to take the cake.
Sophia looked over and saw Black Manta and knew that Conner getting away was almost completely out of the question.It's fine. Just have faith. she looked at the photographer that had snapped the photo on his phone, and knew without a doubt that it had already been sent out, and she also knew what was about too happen to him. She felt the Joker shift his head slightly and grin, and then the next thing she knew the person's head exploded from a point blank gun shot to his head. Tears starting to slid down her face as people that had been around him screamed and ran away. Protect them. Not me. at this point she connected back with Spencer and forced her way into her mind and showed her what was happening down below her. After that was quickly sent to her, she came back to herself and felt herself being dragged over to the main windows. She gave a quick glance outside and saw the flashing lights that were speeding down the long road that lead to the Wayne Manor gate.
The Joker smiled with glee with the mans head exploded bu it quickly faded when he dragged the girl to the windows and saw the Coppers speeding towards him. "Why does everything get ruined so quickly? Don't they know that I need time to play? I NEED THE BATMAN."the first part was only half wispered to himself and of course to the girl that he was currently dragging around, the second part was yelled as he turned around. "I will kill this girl. Now, bring me the Bat."

Connor stopped inching his way forward, he began to listen, hearing that Clark was down stairs, trying to find away to get to the team. He exhaled, just looking up at Sophia as she was pulled to the window. There wasn't anything any one could do. He looked around the room, seeing everyone on the team, except Spencer.
Where's Spencer? He rang into the team, still looking around for her.
Royce paused and looked around the room as well, everyone was there, except Spencer. The one time we need her and she isn't here. He thought,
mustly to himself, not remebering that everyone that was Linked in could hear, including spencer. Boy was he going to regret saying that. Roy looked over at Oliver,
seeing that he had made something that could be used as a distraction, but only if they could pull it off. Little did they know, it didn't matter what they did.
Spencer had caught a glimse of what was going one down below her.
As she sat there on her knees, slowly bleeding out, she began to fade in and out of reality. Her body rocked back and forth, thats when it happened. Spencer blacked out,
or at least her brain stopped working like normal. The beast took over. She lunged forward at Harley, knocking her down long enough for Spencer to dash away. And that she did. The Cat shifted slightly, claws and fangs growing out. She crawled along the side of the building, making her way to the window that Sophia was standing at. She looked up, seeing the Joker, and with one quick move, all three of them were falling out the window. It was to sudden to be expected, which was a good thing. Spencer seperated Joker from Sophia, knocking him through a window below where everything had started. She grabbed Sophia roughly, one set of claws digging into the birthday girls arm, the other set into the building. They only fell for a moment, before Spencer caught them. She looked at the window that was next to her, all she could see was the beast. With a swift kick the window shattered, giving her some where to put Sophia.
She lefted her best friend into the room, looking at her with a tilt of her head. Spencer wasn't there any more, just a wild beast that ad her eyes. "Save."
Was all Sepnecer could say before she was shot in the shoulder. She looked up, seeing Harley pointing a gun at her. A roar left her lips, and just as quick as she had appeared,

When the Cat appeared behind the Joker and Sophia all Dick could think was Spencer. and then he watched in horror as she ripped the two out of the window. He rushed through the crowd towards Black Manta and swung out his foot, catching the unsuspecting villain in his mid-section. He didn't have to fight as Robin, everyone knew that the twins had been trained in self defense. His gut clenched in fear when he heard Sophia's scream as they fell. Since they were still connected he could feel her pain as her arm was ripped open. But he stayed focus on the task at hand, Conner, Roy, go change. Quickly. Richard sent out the orders that he knew would be followed without question as the team leader, he knew the former would only have to quickly change his shirt while, Roy had to grab his weapons and mask from one of the hidden closest in the hallway.
While Sophia was caught unexpected by Spencer's form she knew what had happened, as Spencer had never wanted to embrace the magical side, she hadn't been as open to the transformations as Selena and Sophia had tried to make her. She felt true pain as Spencer's claws ripped through her skin and down to her bone, when Spencer threw her through the window she twisted to her side so that she didn't fall on her wounded arm, she slammed into a desk and knew immediately that she had broken her ribs ontop of the damage done to her arm. Along with the cuts and scraps from the window glass she had blood dripping all over her body. She caught Spencer;s look and closed her eyes and dove deep into her mind.
While part of it was wild and taken over by the beast, she found solace in the part that was still being held onto by Spencer, You have to gain control again Spencer, you can do this. I can help put the Cat away but you have to be the one to gain control again. I have to have a place to start Spencer. Otherwise, my magic will overrun you, and you may never be able to tap into this side of you again. she lay amid the ruined desk and maintained the connection with Spencer, Richard, Roy, Conner, Bruce and then she felt someone else at the edge of her powers that she was used to and opened up that line as while.
When the Cat threw him threw the window the Joker felt such a rage that as soon as he staggered to his feet he let out a blood curdling scream of rage. "That damn Batman and that damn Cat! Ruined all my fun!" he staggered out of the darkened room and spoke into his ear piece, "Kill them all!"
As soon as that order was spoken the henchmen from the ballroom started to open fire on all of the guests, Bruce started to push people down to the floor as he ran out of the room.

Spencer was deeply lost to the beast. Once Sophia found the only part that was her, she was soon to realize that the only part she could reach was the sad little girl Spencer once was. The little girl looked up from her sitting postion, pulling her hands away from her ears. "Hello? Who's there?" She called out. It didn't take long for the little girl to find the manifestation of Sophia, Spencer had in her head. This Sophia was a bit older, about 20-21 years of age. She had blossomed into a beautiful woman.
The little girl ran over to her, smiling and giggling softly. "Look at what I found hidding in Mommy's closet!" She giggled, holding out her hands. There in her hands was the only thing that could bring Spencer back. It was her necklace. The one thing she cared about more then other people, the thing that kept her in control. The wildness in Spencers mind and heart began to slowly fade away as the child stood there before Sophia, holding out the necklace. "I think Mommy was hiding from me because it's my birthday gift. Should I put it on to see if it fits?" She asked Sophia, smiling up at her.
Things in the real world weren't as pretty. Spencer and Harley were fighting harder then ever. The Cat lashed out at Harley, cutting open her leg a whole lot. The Jester fell to one knee, looking back at the beast that was before her. "Jeez, you sure are hard to get rid of..."
Clark had heard the glass shattering, followed by the sound of a smaller body hitting the ground. He had already changed into his Superman suit. He flew over to the body, ready to attack if needed, but instead he saw Sophia. "My goodness girl, you look a mess..." He said softly, trying to make light of what was going on, he soon realize that she was deep in her powers.
Connor torn his tux shirt and jacket off, going after The men that were firing in to the innocent crowd. With in a few moment he made enough room to starting having people rush out to safety. He turned, growling a bit as he fought off the bad guys.
Royce followed after Oliver, heading over to the hidden closet and changing quickly. "Where is Sophia? She could need help!" He said as he folowed after Oliver, rushing back inside to help get the innocent people out of the ballroom.

Richard shook his head as he watched Conner rip off his shirt and dive into the crowd. A topic that was going to be up for discussion after this was going to be "keeping one's secret identity a secret" he had honestly never thought that he would need to have that discussion with the team before, but obviously he was mistaken. While he knew that Conner always had his Superboy shirt under his normal clothes, he still expected him to at least find some form of cover before going into the fight. He pulled a woman down to her knees quickly as he saw someone take aim at her back, "Lady, people fire guns, the first thing you should do is hit the floor, not stand there like a target board." he mumbled under his breath. He moved forward now, knowing that both he and Bruce wouldn't be able to disappear and fight without casting suspicion onto the Wayne Family. Just as quickly as the gun fight had started the police where streaming into the ballroom, they quickly and efficiently got the situation under control, and the villains that didn't get captured fled through open doors and windows.
As Sophia felt Spencer gain a little bit of her control again, she let her magic flare out from inside of her. Mending and containing the beast that had broken out. She had been right, had Spencer not gotten control for herself, she would have severed the connection with the Cat to force it back inside of her. Sophia's magic would have burned away any and all contact that the Cat had held with Spencer just because of the power and range that Sophia held. If your ready Spencer you can change forms, after that you'll be able to control her yourself. Sophia returned back to her mind and opened her eyes to look at Clark. "Not all of us have magical healing abilities like the alien from outer space." she cracked a small smile, "And you know I've looked way worse then this man."

Spencer closed her eyes tightly, she had some control again, but she was still in
a pit of fear, she didn't want to change, she was afraid of the beast that lay within her. The female fell to her knees, her head in her hands. Harley was knelt down a few feet in front of her, bleeding out, not having much fight left in her. Spencer couldn't fight it anymore, she needed the healing factor of the beast. So she did it, she let the shift happen. Bones broke and reformed,
her body shifted into that of a very large cat, a saber tooth tiger to be direct. A roar so strong and loud it could only match a Canary Cry was ripped from her lips. Spencer had done it, she had shifted, she turned sharply when she saw the door pop out, followed by a few cops. She growled again, turning to face them before she leaped away. She needed to leave and heal, or at least that is what she was planing on doing until a shock ripped through her body, knocking her out.
The cops waited until she had shifted back before they cuffed her and began to bring her back through the building. Spencer was in a bit of a haze as they walked her to the police car. It had been one crazy night.
Royce and Connor helped the police officers get everyone they could, then they helped get people out to get medical attention. Roy stopped when he saw they bring out Spencer in hand cuffs. Wally, Connor, Aqualad, and Megan all stood next to him and stared in wonder, why was she being taken away. That's when they saw Harley, she was really messed up. Megan gasped covering her mouth. "There's no way she did that. Spencer would never....
Right?" She asked looking around at her team.
Clark gave her a gentle smile before he reached down for her, "Lets get you out to the EMT's that are waiting. You could use a little TLC birthday girl." He said as he waited for her. He knew he needed to be careful and pick her up to take her out to get treated. "Just let me know when your ready."

Richard looked at Spencer as she was walked past them in cuffs, he could tell that she was barley holding it together but at this moment he knew that he couldn't approach her. More often then not he had to put the Wayne family name first and he already knew that this was going to cause issues in the tabloids, everyone knew he was dating Spencer and his family was connected with her. He turned away from her and started to make his way back through the crowd, going to find Bruce. His dad had tears in his eyes as he looked down at his son. "She cut her connection with me." Dick heard him mumble softly, "Dad she did with everyone. Just....wait okay. Don't think she's..." his voice trailed off. Honestly he didn't know if Sophia had managed to survive the fall and the Cat that had taken her and the Joker out of the window. But he wasn't going to call it until he knew for sure.

It had been 5 years, five long and hard years. But Spencer made it. The doors opened to Bel Rev and the female walked out. When Spencer walked into Bel Rev she never thought she would leave, but she did, just she wasn't the same girl that had walked into that had walked in. No she was much different. Her and the Cat were now one. One blue eye and one gold cat eye looked at the door seeing the sun. She looked down at her belongings, seeing things from that night. All she grabbed was her necklace and a picture, tossing the rest away in the trash. The 21 year old stepped out into the sun, her eyes flashed, both jumping to the cat. She had no ride back, that was something she didn't want. No, she wanted to let the beast free, and so she did. The dark haired female took off in a sprint, as soon as she was far enough gone she shifted, a cheetah this time. Her shift was flawless, a single jump then boom, she was a cat, and a very large one at that.
Spencer ran through the dessert, stopping when she found a used car shop. Out front sat a beautiful bike. The female shifted back, and walked up to the male that was running everything. "how much for the bike?" she asked as she stepped inside the building. "5 grand, in cash." The man responded from the counter, reaching down to grab a clipboard with paper on it. Spencer smirked and reached in her pocket. She had saved money from the things she did while in Bel Rev. "how about 10g's and I was never here?"
And it was a deal. Spencer grabbed the keys from the male and got on the bike taking off for Gotham. Her "home" Or at least the one place she onced called home. After a very long drive the female was there pulling up to Kyle Inc. The company her mother had built up from the ground, which was now heres due to Selena's death. Something she didn't know about until recently. Spencer parked the bike and walked up the steps. A small smile filled her lips as she heard Wally's voice echo through the hall. He and Artemis were the only ones that came to see her and were still her friends.
"Artemis, Wally, it has been far to long." Spencer called out as she walked up to them giving them hugs. "Is he here?" She asked Artemis. The blonde nodded her head, "He is just using the bathroom." Artemis reached forward and grabbed Spencer's shoulders. "He might need a minute, don't stress to much, its been a while since he has seen you." Artemis said softly. "And they know nothing about him?" Spencer asked. Artemis nodded faintly to her, watching Spencer look over her shoulder.
There he was, jet black hair and deep beautiful blue eyes. He was being walked out by his guard. As soon as his eyes landed on her that was it. "Mommy!" The boy called before racing over to Spencer. Tears filed the cat's eyes as she bent down and picked up her son. "hello baby. God I missed you." She said holding her son close to her. "Thank you guys for hiding and caring for him. Lets head up to my office."
A lot had changed in the past five years. Nothing was the same, and it never would be.
